Varsha Bhave is founder of "Kalangan", an organization that provides children with a platform to display and enjoy their talents. This organization aims at searching for talent in children and then promote it to large and enthusiastic audiences. Kalangan seeks to make children aware of their inclination for the performing arts - including music, theatre and dance and encourage sensitive and appreciative audience for the arts.
Kalangan holds workshops for children to train them in dance and in vocal and instrumental music. Kalangan has presented several programs like "Kuhu Kuhu", "Ananadgaan", "Krishnamela", "Asha Ke Phool", "Ranganayika", "Bhairavi - the beginning" and so on all conceptualized by Varsha and well-received by audiences.
In the past few years, Kalangan has also taken up the activity of creating audio albums specially aimed at children. Varsha has scripted and compoed music for albums namely "Adgula Madgula", "Ek Mungi Nesli Lungi", "Jangal Gaani" and "Ganyat Boluya Ka ?". Manasa Music has released most of Kalangan's such creative musical albums.
Kalangan's founder, Varsha Bhave believes that in today's times, there is a need to find innovative ways of making young people aware of and appreciate the rich tradition of the arts in India. She believes that Kalangan can play a key role in realizing this vision. By blending Indian music, dance and theatre together, her aim is to bring these performig arts under one roof and form a university that would propogate these arts worldwide.

B.A. in Hindi from Shivaji University, 1982. Topped the University in Hindi.
M.A. in Music from SNDT University, 1984.
Inherited musical legacy from her grandmother, the renowned vocalist Smt. Indirabai Khadilkar and great grandfather Natyacharya Kakasaheb Khadilkar.
Received her priliminary training in music from revered Gurus like Shri. Manohar Potdar, Shri. Shende and Shri. Chintanbuva Mhaiskar.
Trained for 16 years under the able guidance of Pt. Neelkanthbuva Abhyankar. Received occasional training in natyasangeet from Smt. Jayamala Shiledar and Smt. Kirti Shiledar alongwith guru Shri. Bhalachandra Pendharkar.

Participated in several music festivals, Radio and Television shows and also in some prestigious stage shows such as "Baithakichi Lavni", "Devgaani" and "Natyasangeetache Shilpakar" produced by NCPA. Mumbai.
Performed lead roles in plays like "Sanjeevani", "Mandarmala", "Subhadra" produced by Bhave Natya Mandir.
Much accailmed role of "Rukhmini" in the the play "Swayamvar", produced by Deval Smarak Mandir.
Award for excellence in the field of music by Sanskar Bharati, Sangli in 2004.
